Fresh Cow Pie:
8 songs in less than 17 minutes. You gotta love rock like that, mang! Get in, fuck shit up, and get the hell out as fast as possible. Punchy guitars, metal drumming, hardcore punk vocals - this band has got it all. I'm all over this like flies on a dead ducks ass.
Wet Devoh:
Fast paced hardcore with screaming vocals, The Cost definitely get wookiefied, yet somehow come across as very melodious. The tracks "Some bunnies are
faster than others" and "These Days" shined as brilliant little gems on an excellent album. These guys were a spiffy little find and totally kick ass. I hope
they roll through here soon. If you dig heavier hard core, you'll like The Cost
Rocktober:
Terror tinged chaos theory with a groove come to life in a dirty lab
Spoiled Whine:
These guys bring to you their brand of hardcore punk. Their music is loud and intense and reminded me a
whole lot of the Criminals, Filth and even new AFI. This release was recorded by Ryan Massey of American Steel. Wow you say? I agree with you. Now all
you need to do is write the following address and demand a copy. Do it now!
Spank!:
These boys play some pulverizing, dramatic hardcore. So, take a step back while The Cost charge at you with their own brand of super-energized political mayhem. Quick and to the point: jagged and combative, exhilarating and energetic - I would love to see catch these band live. On "Hour of the Quadriplegic" and "Some Bunnies Are Faster Than Others" the band takes jerking beats and zig-zag bass lines to weave together a cool way of getting bad. Only eight songs but a lot of bang for your buck
Hit List:
The Cost are an impressive bunch of crafty screamers and shakers, and there are lots of good tunes on this one (including a cover of a Nitwits song) It reminds me of the Criminals or Dead And Gone, and has cool artwork and packaging. The most entertaining titles are "Hour Of The Quadriplegic" and "Some Bunnies Are Faster Than Others". A band to look out for in the future.
AMG:
'Tis is what Dead and Gone would have sounded like if they didn't break up or release that
awful record on Alternative Tentacle Records.
Okay, for all those who have never heard of Dead and Gone: The Cost capture
this really dark, chaotic sound with the accompaniment of tribal beats and gruff vocals that sounds as if the singers ready to
heave any second. Sort of like early Neurosis without the metal, epic length songs and long hair. But only eight songs? What a
jib! -- Wes Trumbell
Scott Bricker:
i used to work with a guy who was in the gods hate
kansas and he gave be a bunch of cds from the label
including the cost who made me want to slit my wrists
they were so bad.
